Etsy, known as the world’s largest marketplace for handmade or vintage items, art and crafts was looking for a new space to that would appropriately reflected their brand. They also wanted their office space to inspire their employees and wow their guests.   They retained the services Matiz Architecture and Design. They transformed a raw space in Dumbo and converted in into an Etsy experience.

There new 9,000 sf office space is located at 117 Adams Street in Brooklyn, NY. Upon entering, you immediately realize that you are not in typical office environment. Handmade materials are utilized throughout the office.

Matiz Achitecture and Design

Matiz Achitecture and Design is a multidisceplenary architecurtual and design firm. They use their experience from all facets of architecture to deliver a more creative solution. Per their company website, they “design buildings and spaces that inspire creativity and promote collaboration. Some of their other office clients include Dailymotion and Idealist.

117 Adams Street

117 Adams is among the 5 loft buildings acquired by Kushner and RXR from Jehova’s Witness to accommodate office tenants. The site,  formerly called the Watchtower, is now called Dumbo Heights. The complex consists of 77 Sands Street, 55 and 81 Prospect Street, 175 Pearl Street and 117 Adams Street .
